OKAY I JUST NEED TO FREAK OUT FOR A SECOND.

One of the Remedy writers/developer guys tweeted today about sketching people smoking pipes in his notebook... so then I was like "Ha... his notebook has Alan Wake on the cover... I should draw Mr. Scratch smoking a pipe."
So I did.
and I tweeted it at him.
...
...

YOU GUYS, HE TWEETED ME BACK.
HE THOUGHT IT WAS COOL.
I MAY BE FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW.
ALAN WAKE IS ONLY LIKE MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME EVER.
::flails::

I joined my first Big Bang today...

I'm pretty excited, not gonna lie.
Particularly because it's a multi-fandom big bang and I joined as an artist, so I don't know which pairing I'm going to get :3

In other news I finished my first legitimate paid comission last night...$50 here I come ::fist pump::

Reviving an old LJ

In an attempt to do more fandom related things outside of AO3 I am reviving my LJ so I can participate in challenges and reverse bangs and the like :D

I might be freaking out a little... (how do I fandom?)

Tuxedo the Smoking Bomber!

Bah hahaha... oh Darien/Mamoru, how I forgot you even had another attack aside from roses.
...probebly because of the comically absurd name.

I don't know where it came from, but in keeping with my recent bout of anime nostalgia, I suddenly had an intense urge to watch Sailor Moon the other day. Sadly I do not own any of it on DVD, I used to have it on VHS, but I no longer have the tapes (or a working player for that matter). I had always meant to watch it again, mainly because I never managed to actually see the unedited japanse versions where people are gay and not cousins or flat chested "women" (poor Zoicite).
Luckilly Dave has the japanese version so he said he would lend it to me for my super nerding our pleasure.
Not even gonna lie, Sailor Moon is a little bit of my early teen-hood (I can't say childhood because I was easily in 8th or 9th grade when it as on the original Toonami) I may geek out a little more than is appropriate XD.
Man, we were heavy into Sailor moon. We had "group notebooks" we would pass back and forth between friends where we had each chosen a scout XD.
It was bad... there may have been a stint in high school where I wore exclusively sparkly aqua colored nail polish (and when I say "may have been", what I really mean is that I also had a matching sparkly aqua lipstick. What's up, Sailor Mercury.)

Yet another reason it does not suprise me that I was heavilly bullied in HS, I see now I was asking for it XD.

Unfortunately Sailor Moon may act as a gateway anime into other things I used to watch in the days of yore, such as Dragon Ball Z (Oh god, Vegeta I still love you.), or the original Pokèmon (you know... when there really were only 150, and singing the Poke-rap was a feasible option)

Fear for me.
SO, Thomas and I did a great excavation of the storage unit (mainly because they're going to power wash the garage and we have paper goods out there) and we found some of the most hilarious shit haphazardly crammed into boxes.Collapse )

If I ever become one of those scary horder people I want one of you to promise to tranq me, and dump me in a home somewhere.

So as I mentioned in the LJ community (which has a following of Katie and Kristy at this point, and probebly only because they forgot to unsubscribe themselves) I have been working on revamping all of the characters for NSDS so that I may start drawing it once again.
It's funny I think, because nearly everyone has undergone minor physical changes, and DRASTIC wardrobe changes... with the exception of Wraith.
I don't know if it's nostalgia causing me to perpetually draw him in nearly the exact manner he started, or if his wardrobe was fashion-nonspecific enough for me to go "Eh, he's fine.".
I literally think the only thing I have changed about him (aside from a severely updated drawing style) was the addition of a band on the forearm of his coat. I also removed of all of the earrings from all characters because they were annoying to draw.
I bought a pad of paper the last time I was at Artist and Display that has photo blue comic panel outlines so that all of your pages can be the same size (a problem I had with Imadoki Kyo) so hopefully I will have some comic pags to post soon.
One thing I have been debating is whether I want to ink and color the panels traditionally with Copics, or if I want to do it in Photoshop. I really love coloring things traditionally, and it helps me to keep my color scheme consistant (see Kei's hair in Imadoki Kyo for an example of my inability to do that in Photoshop) but I am afraid that the text in the speech bubbles will clash with the traditional style of inking and coloring. Ordinarilly this might not be a problem, I could just write out the text, and problem solved, but if you know me you know my handwriting is atrocious. XD
Ah, dilemma.

AHAHAHAAA

It has been almost 6 years since I updated NSDS. XD
How horrible is that?
Oh, I fail... I fail as a webcomic artist. Seriously, I drew Wraith the other day, so today at lunch I'm like "Oh I wonder what kinds of things I last posted, I seem to remember that there was a LJ community for it... whaaaaaaaaaat 6 years ago?"
Dear god.

Well, um... not that anyone even remembers it anymore (with the exception of Thomas) but I wrote a bit of storyline out during my failed attempt at NaNoWriMo and I was thinking of trying to make some panels up... seeing as I have this fancy new fangled comc paper.

We'll see how long I keep it up tho XD at the pace I have been going on this comic it should be like, what, 5 pages every 6 years or so?

::shame::

So Evanrude was insane last night, like straight up lost his tiny kitty mind.
He hasn't acted this way since he was a kitten, seriously. He was on the bed, off the bed, on the bed, off the bed, attacking the chair, hiding under the bed, launching across the room, shanking in the kidney insane. Thomas was laughing because he could tell when Evan had attached himself to my head by my squealing proclimation of "What the hell, dude? Seriously!"
At one point he had me verging on full on paranoia because I had heard him burst into the room but when I turned around I couldn't see him anywhere...
...then I realized that a Kimono was on my floor... and that this Kimono had grown huge lamp like eyes in one of the sleeves, and was slowly moving closer to my computer chair making a noise that I could only describe as "MURRmurrmurrMURRRmurr..."
A bit suspicious I feel, so I threw a jingly ball at it and it ran from the room in a fit of joy to give chase.
What even.

Also, I think my car's cd player is dying necause a CD that I JUST BURNED YESTERDAY is skipping like I'm driving on the roads from Children of Men (which, to be fair, is semi accurate given the state of TT and Sunset after the Snowpocalypse 2011)

Assassins Creed 2

Thank god for 5 day rentals ^_^
When I returned L4D2 on Friday I ended up stumbling on Assassins Creed 2 (which I didn’t even know was out yet). So much love… seriously… as of last night I am in Venice during the Carnivale (After the Doce’s assassination) if that gives you any idea of how far I have gotten in a few days.
The carriage chase and DaVinci’s flying machine were… unexpected… but generally cool.
I suck at the flying machine by the way, the instant Ezio got into it I immediately nose-dived into a chimney and was desynchronized, lol. I almost feel bad for Desmond, it can’t be healthy for him as many times as I manage to accidently jump off a roof to my death in this game.
I wont lie, it gets me all kinds of worked up. Thomas was laughing at me because I’m always all “No… NO… NOOOOO AHH I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING GODDAMIT STOP CHASING MEEEEEE!” while I’m playing.
Also I swear… a lot. Especially when I mean to assassinate one person and I accidently leap onto another, although that does happen noticeably less with Ezio as it did with Althair. Good on you Ubisoft.
I positively adore the new controls, and the new blending system. Also the fact that you can loot your targets is a plus, even if the cheap bastards only carry like 4 florins a piece. I can’t complain about money however, my Villa generates “the mad cash” so I usually am not terribly strapped for money. Over all the game is more smooth and polished than the first one, and also Ezio has a sense of humor so he’s already a head and shoulders above Althair to me. (PS I think it’s hilarious that now that Desmond is Synching with Ezio instead of Althair he’s all “Hey Lucy…” ::Fonzie Fingers:: ;-D)
Leonardo DaVinci is adorable. Just saying.
I get all excited when I find a codex because then I get to go visit him, and he’s always so excited to see Ezio. Every time! He always runs up and hugs you and says how worried about you he was. He’s all “Oh my god! You’re alive!!! Ah! It’s so good to see you!”

I was actually really proud of myself for remembering a random piece of art history while I was playing. I had a codex and I opened my map so I could plot a route to DaVinci’s workshop in Florence to have it decoded… but it wasn’t listed anymore on my map. I was like “…wtf?” so I eventually found it on my own but the door wasn’t glowing like it normally would, then I thought about it for a second and was like “…Wait… what year is it? 1480? Shit, he’s in Venice right now isn’t he?” Then I walked a little closer to the door and a courier was all “Oh Messer Ezio, He’s left for Venice…”
Woo! I can remember things I learned about art history in college, take that brain!
Sorry, got all excited that I actually knew something about renaissance Italy.
